How to Prepare for the FAST Entry Test 2024
The National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences FAST is a multiple-campus Private sector university in Pakistan. The FAST University offers the best CS computer science programs in Pakistan and Most of the students Prefer FAST CS programs even over NUST University.
Here we will discuss how you can prepare for the FAST university Entry Test and secure good marks in the entry Test. FAST entry test is conducted once a year and it is mandatory to pass to get admission to the university. The FAST university also accepts the NTS NAT marks for some of the courses. But it is required to give the FAST Entry Test for Admissions.

Time Management is the Key
As you know, the FAST university Entry Test is conducted on Computers and It is time-based. Eligibility for FAST University Admissions
For BS engineering
- 60% matric or equivalent
- 60 % HSSC (FSC or A levels) pre-engineering
- 60 percent or higher in the test
For CS
- 60 % matric or its equivalent
- 50% or more in FSC
For BBA
- 50 % SSC
- 50% or more in FSC
Test Pattern For BBA and BS in Accounting & Finance
- Analytical skills/IQ 40 minutes 30 MCQs 30 %
- English 25 minutes 30 MCQs 15 %
- Essay Writing 15 minutes 15 %
- Basic Math 40 minutes 40 MCQs 40 %
Test Pattern For BS CS and Engineering Courses
- Analytical skills/IQ 20 minutes 20 MCQs 20 %
- English 15 min 20 MCQs 10 %
- Basic Math 10 minutes 10 MCQs 10 %
- Adv. Math 40 minutes 40 MCQs 40 %
- Physics 15 minutes 10 MCQs 20 %
Total Marks: There is a total of 100 Marks and a minimum of 60 marks are required to pass the exam. It is a Computer Based exam and you will get your result after completing your exam or the time is over.
Also, there is a Negative marking, so choose the correct potions wisely.

Basic Mathematics
This Section will be the most simple portion and you could be able to score well if you have good solving practice for fractions Also try to solve simple Mathematics Problems from (brackets, order, division, multiplication, addition, subtraction) BODMAS Questions.
Advanced Mathematics:
This portion will be tough and mostly comes from FSC Mathematics books. Try to have a grip on trigonometry Problems, also Differentiation, Integration, matrices, vectors, algebra, and some probability questions.
calculators are not allowed in the FAST Entry/Admission Test.
English:
You will be asked about simple English grammar and vocabulary. If you are good at Grammer Like spelling mistakes, Sentence corrections, Synonyms, and Antonyms then you could easily get a good score in this section. Also, it is the least difficult level
Essay Writing:
Try to practice and read some Short Essays for this portion. Also to get a good score make proper sentences with fewer grammatical mistakes.
Physics:
Physics MCQs are from FSC Textbooks either theory-based or numerical calculations. You may have to read and understand the concepts provided in your Physics books. Also, Practice Numerical Problems. Some MCQs may be time-consuming and conceptual.
Analytical skills/IQ questions:
This portion is also very easy but tricky. It is designed to check the student's IQ level. Basic Logical Reasoning, Odd one out, and Figures will be enough for this section.
Merit Formula and Admission Criteria
- 50 % weight to marks obtained in FSC
- 50 % weight to marks obtained in the NU-FAST Entry Test.
