Nishtar Medical University NMU Multan 

Nishtar Medical University previously known as Nishtar Medical Colleges was established in the year 1951 to the year 1952 and is one of the old medical colleges in southern Punjab. NMU is affiliated with UHS Lahore and is recognized as a top-level medical institute in Pakistan. It Not only offers courses in medicine and surgery but is also famous for Dental surgery and nursing courses. Recently Nishtar Medical University started a BS Nutrition and Dietician course. NMU has a famous 35,586 books library which facilitates students.

NMU Admission Date 2021 

Nishtar Medical University Admissions in MBBS and BDS courses are regulated by UHS Lahore which opens admission annually. Students can apply in MBBS and BDS courses through the UHS Online admissions portal which is usually in November or December Each year. For Other courses and admissions details, students can visit NMU's official Website.

NMU Seats

NUMS offers multiple seats in MBBS and BDS Courses. These Distributions are allowed by UHS and are meant to vary each year. Several Medical and Dental Colleges seats are written below. 

  • Total 300 MBBS Seats
  • Total 65 BDS Seats

Eligibility Criteria

For admission to Nishtar Medical Colleges Students must have 60 % in their Pre MEdical and 50 % in UHS MDCAT (100 out of 200 marks). 

weightage criteria that are used for the calculation of Merit are provided below.  

  • 40% FSc 
  • 50% PMC MDCAT
  • 10% Matric

Fee Structure 

Nishtar Medical University is a Public sector institute so the overall Fee Structure is affordable similar to other Public sector Medical and Dental Colleges. 

you can also check Fee structure from the UHS Lahore admissions prospectus. The normal fee Structure is provided below
  • 18,030 for 1st Year and onwards 15,030 Years without a Hostel
  • 40,000 approx. hostel charges annually
One-time admissions charges have to be paid by students at the time of the ad, missions in Medical college

The merit list for Admission in MBBS and BDS is Announced by UHS Lahore after the submission of the admissions form. Nishtar Medical and Dental Institute always have high Closing Merit which shows its high rank and popularity among medical students.
  • 92.65 in Open Merit MBBS (UHS Merit List 2020)
  • 91.56 in Open Merit BDS (UHS Merit List 2020)

NMU Hostels 

Nishtar Medical University offers on-campus Residences to Students, Doctors, and Nursing Staff. University has 9 hostels located inside the campus having 4 four separate hostels for boys, two 2 of them are for girls, 2 hostels for doctors, and 1 nursing hostel.
